Young Quinn at culture camp

Quinn Franks
tānisi, Quinn nitisithihkāson ikwa mistahi-sākahikanihk ohci nītha. Hello, my name is Quinn (They/Them), and I am from the big lake area – a community colonially known as Lac La Ronge, located on Treaty Six Territory and the Homeland of the Metis, in North-Central Saskatchewan. Through my maternal side I am mixed: Saulteaux, a member of Skownan First Nation in Treaty Two Territory, I have Métis roots, as well as Ukrainian heritage. As a child I was taken in and later exclusively raised by my (step-)mom and her family, who are members of the Lac La Ronge Indian Band, and proudly raised me nīhithawak. Welcome to a snippet of my Land-Based Education journey!
